LOCATIONS & SOIL - THE BASIS FOR EXCELLENT WINE

Varieties & Locations

LOESS - CONGLOMERATE - CLAY

THE FUNDAMENT OF EXCELLENT WINE

The right location

It is particularly important to us to cultivate our vineyards in a way that the terroir – the interaction of variety, location, soil and climate – reinforces the quality.

Our winery is surrounded by famous loess soils, which are known for making every wine expressive.

On extremly dry terraces, barren soils, consisting of river gravel and scree, enhance the minerality and structure of wines.

Deep clay soils emphasize the full aroma and complexity of wine.

The temperature fluctuations between day and night in our region add to the wines' unique character.

VARIETIES & LOCATIONS

Our most important white wine variety in the range shimmers green-yellow. An unmistakable apple scent is recognizable on the nose. Citrus notes and a hint of pineapple give the wine exotic youth and freshness. This balanced Grüner Veltiner, with its typical peppery bouquet combined with harmonious acidity, perfectly rounds off any dish with white meat

Grüner Veltliner Kamptal DAC

This Grüner Veltliner has developed its intense aroma of ripe apple and gooseberry through the long maceration on the mash. Citrus fruits are reflected on the palate. The dominance of nectarines and the light woody notes from the large acacia barrel give it an unmistakable character.

Grüner Veltliner Kamptal DAC Reserve

Its yellowish shimmer appeals to every wine connoisseur. Its delicately spicy impression with an exotic flair of apricot and mango is refined with the taste of typical vineyard peach. Its light nuances of gooseberries and the fine sparkling acidity make it an enticing drink

Riesling Kamptal DAC

The bright yellow is due to the intense coloring of the grapes. The classic muscat scent paired with lychee and elderberry is reminiscent of grapes and its fresh pomelo flavor and excellently integrated acidity give it an exotic finish. It is an ideal aperitif for any occasion.

Yellow Muscat

With its ruby red color, this wine impresses from the start. The cherry and sour cherry aromas give this wine that "certain something" and the round tannins ensure a very fruity, creamy wine. Storage in a large chestnut wood barrel gives it a pleasant, long-lasting finish, which goes perfectly with game dishes.

Zweigelt

Its light red color and the more neutral cherry notes give the wine a certain youthfulness. Its round tannins and low acidity make it very drinkable and therefore it is the typical "drinking wine" in our region, especially with Austrian home cooking.

Blauer Portugieser

This dark-colored Merlot matured for at least two years in a barrique oak barrel so that it can bring out its typical smoky notes of coffee and nougat in combination with blackberry and vanilla. Its round tannins and high maturity mean it can be stored for a very long time. The lingering finish is very pleasant with dishes such as roast beef and game.

DESTINY Merlot Barrique
