FROM SEEDLING TO UNIQUE WINE - QUALITY BEGINS WITH THE SEEDLING
Weingut & Rebschule
As a winery and vine nursery in the Kamptal in Lower Austria, we are dedicated to the production of vines and wines typical for the region. Our secret lies in the specially selected refinements of our vineyards, which also form the basis for our wine creations.

PASSION, REGIONALITY, SUSTAINABILITY – THE ESSENTIALS FOR US.
what moves us...
It is important to us to create high-quality and long-lasting wines that are typical for the region from our own refinements. The foundation for this is laid through selective, natural and sustainable cultivation of our vineyards.
The grapes are first gently pressed by hand. Then we deliberately use minimal interference in the modern processing to preserve the natural characteristics. But for us it's not just about excellent wines: we want to offer our customers the full experience - starting from the creation of the vine to the opening of the bottle.
In our direct sales we do not only enable the purchase itself, but also guided tours through our vineyards and vine nursery to convey a comprehensive understanding of our sustainable approach and our love for wine production.

"Winegrowing starts with us. The refinement is the basis of a functioning symbiosis between the winemaker and the vine."

KAMPTAL
WHERE PASSION FOR WINE, SUSTAINABILITY AND TRADITION COME TOGETHER.
Vine nursery
Our vine nursery in the picturesque Kamptal is much more than just a source of vines. Here, in the midst of the enchanting vineyards of Lower Austria, a true passion for the world of wine unfolds.
We are characterized by both our regionally grafted refinements and a deep-rooted focus on sustainable practices. Each vine is cared for with love and expertise to create optimal conditions for the development of superb grapes. We open our doors not only to wine lovers but also to the curious who want to take a look behind the scenes of vine production. We share our knowledge, tell the story of the vines and make the love of winemaking visible.
VINE NURSERY
The scions are cut from the vine shoots and their quality is checked.
At the same time, the rootstocks are cut to the desired length.
JANUARY-FEBRUARY
“Grafting” is the process of connecting the scion to the rootstock using an omega cut, which requires particular care and precision. These sensitive vines are waxed to protect them from drying out and then packed in boxes filled with sawdust.
MARCH-APRIL
The vines are now placed in a greenhouse at 30°C for three weeks. During that time, the callus (wound closure) is formed in high humidity and the two components grow together.
APRIL-MAY
MAY-JUNE
After the ice saints (May 15th) the vines are unpacked again, checked and finally planted in irrigated fields where they grow into robust vines.
During these months, the vines are watered if necessary and protected from diseases. Attention must also be paid to the care of the soil and the leaves.
JUNE-OCTOBER
After the first frost, the grown vines are pulled out of the ground and returned to the company premises.
NOVEMBER
Now the vines' quality is checked thoroughly:
– Has the scion connected to the rootstock completely?
– Has the vine formed complex roots?
– Has the vine developed a shoot?
NOVEMBER-DECEMBER
READY FOR SALE
Only those vines that have successfully passed the check are cut and packaged ready for sale.
Afterwards the plants are stored in a cold storage room until they are released for sale in April.
